Hello all,

Firstly just want to say I love this site its packed full of wisdom and I would often cruz through the threads if I need answers.

Well I was born in South Africa, lived in New Zealand for 2 years and I have been in BC since 2000. Love this country and I am now a Canadian Citizen by choice! :canadaFlag:

Started shooting as soon as I could hold up a rifle, and hunting as soon as I could clean and eat what I shot... lots of birds and rabits shot standing without a rest.

I've been hunting for a few years on Vancouver Island and it is way tougher to hunt here. No open plains, just thick bush and ofcourse the deer only like the steepest and thickest terrain. My first year or two I didnt shoot a deer. That was really frustrating:bangHead: Never could time it right to see a deer run across the road... Till someone let me in a little secret... "If you dont get out of the truck and hike you will never get a shot on a deer."
Hmmm....

Well it worked, been tagging out every year no problem and its way cheaper then doing 250kms a day and coming home with a grouse if I was lucky.

Just sold my savage 30-06 and got a Rem M700 sps varmint. Im in the process of working out a load for it... .308 win. It is my project gun, Im looking to modify it completely. Didnt know how tough it was to get stuff from the states... I need local guys to get parts from and save myself the pain of importing.

Its nice to finaly be a member.
