New to CGN, questions about shooting in WA state

Hi all,

I've recently completed my CFSC and CRFSC and have sent in my PAL application to Miramichi about a week ago.

I live in Vancouber, BC, and I have some experience years ago with rifles, but have not dabbled in handguns or shotguns until recently at the range in PoCo.

I have a newb-ish question that perhaps someone could address, or point in the right direction:

Shooting across the border in Washington State.

* Is this a common practice?
* Where does one go?
* What does one have to do to legally bring your restricted firearms into the USA (After the ATT to the border)?
* Any info of Canadian-friendly ranges in Washington?
* Do I need to bring ammunition with me, or can I purchase it down there?
* I've read that I can legally bring up to 5000 rounds back across the border into Canada with me, but there may be legality issues of possessing ammunition rounds while in Washington, any comments?

In a nutshell, forget Canadian import laws and allowances. U.S. law says you cannot export any ammunition or ammunition components. In theory you could set up as an importer, but it wouldn't be cost effective. I think you might be able to find out more about heading south to shoot by searching in the legalese section.
