New to Gun dog

Hey everyone, I am wondering if any one can share some advice on training a gun dog.

I would like to get into retriever trials with her, but really need to know where to start.

Also, is there anyone who has specifcally worked with poodles (please do not laugh at me until you research the breed, I have dog allergies)?

My little girl is just 11 weeks old, where do I start??

Sammy you can get any number of books to help you with your training, my current fav is called the 10 minute retriever, author John and Amy Dahl.
You can get a small dummy for a little retreiving practice in the hall way in your house. Things like sit, and calling by nothing but his name. No here boy or come pup.At this age obedience training is where you want to start. fS
