New to Handgun, looking to buy on a budget, advice please?

"Once I get my Pal I'll register some old firearms from my grandfather that are laying in the parent's safe for those last 25yrs and sell them so I could buy a good pistol."

If you're new to shooting, make sure that you consult with an experienced gunnut before selling any of your grandfather's guns. They may be more valuable than you realize.

I have found that the sentimental value of a firearm received from a loved one can increase as you get older. My most cherished firearm is not any of my expensive, shiny new toys but rather the old Marlin .22 rifle that my Dad used to teach us how to shoot with. That one will NEVER be sold or traded away.

try a buch of different guns and buy the one you like the best even if it's $1000 or more, no point IMO in buing a gun just because it's cheap, if it doesn't fit you, you'll just end up looking for a another/ better one a few month down the road...

I probably wouldn't get the .22kit; for the money you can get a new .22 pistol... that way you'll have two :)

Well about my grandfather's guns, look like my father destroyed them a time ago. I asked him yesterday where they were and he said got rid of them.
They was 2 lever action .32 S&W or special caliber, and a 12ga shotgun..

I'll try to get a 250-300$ deal on a good buckmark, that would be cool.
I saw some S&W 422/2206 for sell buy saw in review they aren't good, lot's of FTE/FTFeed...

What's the point of CopperPlated .22lr round if waxed lead is good?

I find that copper plated .22 rounds are a little easier on the fingers when you're loading up magazines. Copper plated rounds don't leave your hands all dirty like regular lead rounds do and they don't deform as easily. I find that they're also 'cleaner' in that they don't leave as much fouling in the barrel (not sure if that's true or not though).

Pity!!:( :( :(

yeah, I could have financed my first pistol with those.. don't know how that was worth, they have been 25yrs in safe in untouched so, they probably rusted a little...

Why hawk old guns that posibly would of had history, and sentimental value... just to make a down payment on something new.... Just set aside a bit of cash every month, week, ect ect... and buy what you want.

nah those gun as far as I know was for food..
Grandparents had a farm and I know the 12ga was to hit the cow's head..
don't know about the .32 , maybe some small animal hunting..
Anyway, I really thinks my parents aren't gun friendly, I said to them I have taken course and they didn't say nothing, I was kinda impressed even thoo I'm 24.
