I mounted a Nikon Monarch 3-12x42 scope on the used 541S that I purchased recently from a CGN member, and headed out to the range. It seems to shoot very well, although it did have four incidents, where the primer never struck the case. The firing pin appears to have sat out of the groove a bit when the bolt chambered a round, then the firing pin would strike above the cartridge, leaving a mark in the metal. I had just finished stripping and cleaning the bolt because the former owner complained of light strikes. All four incidents occurred in the first 30-40 rounds, then the gun went more than 100 rounds without any issues.Hopefully, the problem has worked itself out. The rifle averaged around 5/8" to 3/4" for five shots at fifty yards with American Eagle loads, but it did much better with SK Standard Plus.It is shooting very good for a lighterweight sporter.
