ok to each his own

the SIG is a great gun worth the 3k??Not to me...I have shot them lots and the are just as good as they say..

HK G36 is an other gun that is very good...but is it worth the $$$$$$??

to me I will take an AR with a Eotech a pile of mags and a good RAS for under the 3K mark and be very happy....the AR is a shooters rifle everything is just where it needs to be..


I have also shot a SKS lots killed lots of deer,G-Hogs,rabbits...well anything I pointed it at and it has never not worked....


I would like to see a SIG,AR and HK G36 go head to head with the good old $175 SKS to see what gun dies first(I would bet on the HK)

oh and pitdogboy that is a hell of a rifle and Dog you got there!!!best dogs I ever had.....

I have handled a black special a couple of times, and like I have already said they are nice, nicely finished too, but unfortunately the heart of the rilfe is a cheap metal pressing. These have been designed with ease of manufacture in mind, quality was obviously a secondary consideration.

Hey it's your money, if you want to throw it away that's entirely up to you.

You must if forgot to wear your glasses when you handled that Black special.

The QC is excellent, and the steel reciever is far from being "cheaply" made.

As said, these rifles do not leave the factory until they shoot at least 1 MOA at 300 meters (using iron sights).I have the factory test target that shows a 1 MOA group at 300 meters.

Lets see your CZ 858 do that.;)

Read the testing these things went through its pretty impressive. Materials are secondary to design. AKs have a good rep - they're stamped...

It's a second rate steel pressing reciever, deny as much as you like but nothing will change that fact.

Let's see you do that with your black special with iron sights, I bet you cant!

As far as accuracy is concernedI have a $120 WW1 P14 that will outshoot your black special , and at distances that you could only dream of with a black special.

The Sig is a jack of all trades, it is not a specialist rifle although the price would suggest otherwise.

CZ858 is a better rifle than a Black Special!?! Wow, then I guess my VZ58 is a better carbine than my H&K USC! How could I have been so blind? Thank you, ### Gun Lover, in my eyes, the value of all my cheap Combloc and Chicom guns just quadrupled! Anybody wanna buy an SKS-D? Only $999.95!:p
 
Oh, and sheet metal is stronger in certain areas where milled parts can have a disadvantage due to stress points.
Stampings can circumvent this since they have some properties related to forgings, but not all.

You like to insist that the receiver is a "cheap pressing", so apparently you know little about the manufacturing process. First of all, pressed parts do not signify poor quality. Poor quality pressed parts do. If you start with quality steel and properly heat treat it, it is as durable as anything else. The SIG P226 slide is an example of this, as on my range they regularly outlast those "quality" forged and machined slides on other "quality" guns.
Secondly, the rails in the receiver are tack welded and then brazed into position. They are virtualy impossible to remove. I doubt you will find a more solid construction in any of the "quality" guns you have mentioned.
I had an American buy a rifle and ask me to cut the receiver rails out so that he could build a "US made" receiver for the gun. I could not get the rails out. I went through dozens of drill bits and cutting tools. The receiver is VERY hard.

Whether you like the rifle of not is imaterial, it is definately not "cheaply" made.

In any event, any range, any day, come out here and show me how it is done with your SKS, or CZ858.

Lots of them, I also sell CZ858 rifles too. In fact I can compare them side by side all day long. You need to step a little farther away from your SKS.

You say you have handled a Sig... have you shot one? How much range time have you had, what distances have you shot with it, and what ammunition have you put through it? I hate to call people on B.S., but based on your above post I would hazzard a guess at.... No, zero, zero, & none.

I'll be one of the first guys to say I feel they are over-priced, but to say it is a poor rifle overall with shoddy construction is simply false.

False indeed, just like your misquote. I actually said they were nice rifles:D
 
Think of it like a quest for the holy grail. An accurate reliable "sport utility" rifle. The best of the best out of the box.

Accurizng and buying all the toys for an AR will get you to the same cost... now only if I could sell my investment in the states!! ;)
