I had a CIL 180 shipped from BC to Ontario with full intentions of having my boys use it in the Junior rifle program at our local range. They are a little small for it yet and are currently using a savage cub.
It arrived Thursday and today I finally had a bit of free time to try it out. I was shooting prone at 50 meters. Using Federal Champion (blue box) 40 grain standard velocity. I don't shoot prone often or use target sights and when I have it has always been at 20 meters. So my skill level isn't very high. So far I am more than happy with my results.

Yes I got one for my son a couple years ago, awesome rifle, those sights look like 190 peeps, and I agree, just buy 1 box of SK standard to give yourself a treat! You will cut that group down considerably, the 180 loves them!

Ya I've seen the same sights on 190's as well. Your the second person to recommend SK standard. I do want to try them out but I've never seen them in any local shops. I guess I'll have to start asking around if anyone can have them brought in.

I think flahertys has it in Toronto, our Canadian Tire stocks it, you can try Hirsch precision too, a sponsor here, just on box and you will be hooked

I would love to get a couple 190 peep sites!

I'll check the web and see who has any. I'm surprised Canadian tire has it. Our local Canadian tire is hit and miss for .22lr, more often than not there is none at all, and the Canadian tire in the next town over always has some .22lr but it is always bulk cheep stuff mix with the odd box of CCI.

The anshutz peeps seem hard to find used and when found seem to be expensive. I have another set on a different 180 and that set cost me $195 + tax and it took me a few months to find a good set.

Yea, our CTC is into firearms pretty heavy, the sk standard should be around $8 a box of 50 so not too bad to see what the 180 can really do, the federal isn't bad, CCI SV is good too but not as good as SK! It's hard to find peeps at a reasonable price anywhere in Canada. I was looking for some bolt on front sights for my ns522 and some rear peeps to fit the grooved receive,, the rear ones are around but a bit pricey, can't find front bolt on yet! Your kids will love the 180!

Nice CIL.I see couple of those being shot in GRGC regularly and they both shoot great.
Btw if you put sling on you can cut group size in half.Just reminding you :)

Right now the boys are 8 and 10. I have a 180 for each. I think the biggest biggest problem with having them grow up shooting higher quality guns right from the start is they won't be satisfied with average guns as teens and beyond. This will be bad for the old walletf:P:2:

I will try that some time and see.

Prophet River has sk std plus and it's still no tax tonight, from the land weekend sale. I get all my lapua and sk from them.

I picked up a 180 and a LH 190, great rifles!!! I've yet to shoot the 190, but the 180 is right in there with my other 64 based rifles.
Wow a left hand 190, I am a lefty but never even shot, let alone owned a lefty rifle, if you ever hear of another for sale, keep me in mind!

Missed the sale. Bulls Eye is just under an hour for me and they are a sponsor. I've been there before. I'll stop in next time I'm in the area and see if they will bring some in.
