New to me Citori... what model is this?

Id have to dig out my old Browning catalogs, but the engraving does look familiar. If i remember correctly it was a short lived engraving pattern, didnt stick around long before being replaced with new pattern.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Looks like it’s 28” tubes and has invicta removable chokes. He had 5 chokes with it.

edit. If I’m understanding the Browning web site correctly it’s a Citori from 06 with no designation for lightening or anything. Has MT131 after the serial #.

White spacer is added between butt and adjustable pad. If you measure the length of the buttstock wood you can confirm whether the wood has been cut, before the adjustable plate installed, or that added length was needed for someone with really long arms.
You need to confirm that the chokes are Invector (not Invicta) or Invector Plus, which are for two different bore diameters, and not interchangeable.

The gun looks to be in beautiful shape. Enjoy.

I see. In this case there is no white spacer it's actually just the aluminum for the adjustable butt stock. It was indeed shortened to compensate for the pad. It says INVECTOR on the side of the barrel that's hidden behind the receiver. Thanks for the correction... late post and I was tired. :)

Using your serial number, you can decode it using this database on the Browning website

https://www.browning.com/support/date-your-firearm/citori-over-under-shotgun.html

EDIT....I saw afterwards that you posted it is coded 131. To me it looks like a Grade 1 Lightning

Also, if it is an Invector and not Invector Plus, then it would have to be older then a 2006 DOM. By 2006, the Citori was already using the Invector Plus choke system

You're good! I checked again and you are 100% correct. It says Invector Plus on the barrel. So I guess it is indeed 2006.

Thanks for the expertise!

Invector plus chokes came into play over 10 years earlier than that. My 2 Citori Plus Traps bought used in 1998 were 1993 mfg and both guns had the invector plus chokes. I also bought a Gold 10 that year w/26" and 30" barrels and they were invector plus as well.

That is a standard Lightning Hunter with an aftermarket adjustable recoil pad.

If you want to maintain value and restore it to original factory condition (assuming the stock has not been cut), PM me and I have a guy that does nice work on Browning's at a extremely reasonable price.

Hey thanks for the offer but I bought this to shoot. It was shortened. Not really worth it to restore IMO. I hope this will make me a better shooter!!! Lol. We all know it’s the gun that makes a good shooter right?!?? Right guys??!? Nothing to do with practicing or anything like that...

Agree. Invector plus became a Browning mainstay in about 1989. My Citori manufactured in 1994 had Invector Plus chokes
