Nice piece. Do you need to scope it? Sounds like a lot of trouble and expense for what you'll wind up with
iiwme i'd just enjoy the iron sights and shoot it for what it is

the gap between the top of the mag well and the reciever, most likely indicated the sporter stock was not inletted properly.

Consider a BadAce no drill/tap scout scope base and a long eye relief scope or a red dot. Love the scout setup!

Scoping that rifle would cut it's present value in half, if you drill and tap the receiver to accept bases for rings.

If you do an internet search, which many folks who use their cell phones for everything can't or don't do anymore, you will find there are a couple of no drill and tap type scope mounts for that rifle. The better ones fit onto the rear sight base and require a long eye relief scope, but work very well.
