I picked up a 9mm Glock version Sub2K before Christmas off the EE and I must say I love it!
I'd been looking for a pistol calibre carbine for nearly a year and had tried out a JR Carbine but the one I tried had issues.
I read lots of good reviews on the Sub2K, really the only negative up here is the high price:confused:
I really wanted to change the forend and found one on the EE with the Kel Tec quad rail already installed. It also included 2 10rd Glock mags (Well, he advertised 2 but shipped 1 but promised to send out the 2nd ASAP).
A couple of the things I like about this rifle is the light weight and myriad of ways to customize it.
I quickly got out my credit card and went to work ordering accessories.
So far that includes: Removing front sight, 10/30 KCI mag, UTG rail covers, Magpul AFG, UTG .5 riser for my Bushnell TRS-25, Tacticool Buffer Tube cover and Tacticool operating handle cover.
Still on the way: Pearce extended base plate for the 10rd mag and a Hogue slip on grip
I've had it to the range once and put 200rds of AE, CCI and MFS through it (115g and 124g)
The gun feels great, cycles everything and appears to be a good shooter. My only real complaint is I'll need to change to a 1'' riser to get the proper cheek weld/sight with the TRS-25
I also think I made order a barrel shroud now that the front sight is gone.
So here's some pics

PS. No it won't fold up with the TRS-25 on the rail but I really didn't care about that:p

These things are a blast to shoot.

I bought two OD Zombie Edition Sub 2000s, one for me, and one for my brother. His quad rail loosened off and slid forward after 90 rounds. The rear barrel clamp chewed up the barrel locking nut when it slid forward. Mine did the same thing after 67 rounds. I'll be trying out red loctite when it goes back together. Both were brand new. A little frustrating to say the least.

Man, I would be pissed about that.

They probably didn't loctite it at all when they installed it at the factory. I installed the quad rail in the first week of December and liberally loctited ever single screw. Then I purposely let it sit for three weeks. I just ran 200 rounds through it in the pouring rain last weekend and it didn't move at all. Barrel got smoking hot at times as well. If you blue loctite it all down you should be good.

I am on Wanstalls' order list for one of these. I dont own a Glock, S&W, Beretta or Sig226 so I dont have a mag preference. Does anyone have a view on what mag choice would be best? I know I don't like the Glock 10 round pistol mag because the last few rounds are so hard to press in.

Thanks.

That's exactly it, all screws on the quad rail had blue loctite EXCEPT the top two that attach to the barrel clamps. The quad rail loosened off as well as the barrel clamps/mounts sliding forward. I picked up a bottle of red loctite, might use that.

Glock all the way for me. Probably a lot better resale value too. If we had normal capacity mag limits the G18 mag would be a huge plus.

Were there any torque specs listed on the installation instructions?

No, there wasn't. If you are a notorious over tightener like I am you have to be careful! :D I actually did a video of the quad rail install but I haven't posted it to youtube yet, I'm not totally happy with it but there isn't any other vid I can find that shows how to do it.
