New-to-me Parker Hale; What can you tell me about it?

I'm always interested in a PH thread. Yours is a nice looking gun. Mine is a 1960's Safari De Luxe in 30-06. The stock is very robust and I do like the schnabel forend. Whether with the Williams peep or the Nikon optic it produces near MOA at 100 yards. I'm sure a good shooter could do better. One cannot beat the 30-06 for an all 'round chambering IMO. I have no idea what it is worth, but the question is academic, since my dad bought it new and I plan to leave it in my will. I would do a minimum amount of maintenance on it and just enjoy using it. The price was definitely right.

I bought a Parker Hale 1200C 300 Win. Mag. with no sights, in 1984 with 2 spare clips for $400. I have always shot about 1 1/2" groups. Maybe nothing impressive but always consistent. If you got it for less than $250 it's a steal. Don't change anything, just don't lose your clip. ;)

Repro clips are available and are produced and sold right here in Canada.
Western Gun Parts carries them.
