New to Ontario and Blaze Orange

I just rock a blaze orange cap (or toque if unseasonably cold) and vest with the appropriate frontage. I layer accordingly to be flexible in changing temperature and/or weather. Big fan of merino wool base layers.

And sorry Yes I will be spot and stalk hunting on my own 100 acres and no real hunting nairghbors so I'd be suprised if I ever ran into someone or had a crossfire issue.

My original thought was Vest so I could layer just not sure what is a decent one. Unless wearing a back pack I carry all my essentials on a gunfighter belt.

The 15$ crappy tire special should work out fine if you don't need function. I dress in layers and normally wear a backpack. If I get hot or cold I adjust layers and put the orange on top. If you get a nice vest or jacket and it gets hot or cold you are stuck with that as your top layer.

Besides the vest, you are also required to wear an orange hat...
Best of luck with your bear hunt.

So vest and hat but when does one have to wear that ? Always when Hunting for anything , even small game ??

big game rifle season you need to wear orange vest and hat minimum. During turkey, or non deer/bear/moose season you can wear what you want. Bear if your in a tree stand and it's not also deer season you can take it off.

That being said, I always wear blaze orange when hunting with the exception of wild turkey and waterfowl. It may not always be required, but I feel safer being more visible to other hunters.

This is the one I use but you can go to Cabela's or Canadian tire and just grab a vest and hat combo for under $30.

Primos Gun Hunter Vest

I also take my blaze out to Alberta even though it isn't strictly required there.
