Hi all

New to reloading. Doing lots of reading, but I am a bit overwhelmed.
I shoot a para 1640 IPSC 180grain bullet.
I need a softer shooting 40 major then I am currently shooting.

What powder recommendations and OAL do you recommend ?

i can't comment on the powder side of things for 40 cal, but for OAL i can. you simply use the longest OAL that will reliable feed and fit your specific gun. start low and work up your charge.

I was recommended Longshot. I have shot these rounds before and they were nice rounds I liked them. I think I will give longshot a try if I can find it.
Apparently it seems shotgun powders seem to be a good choice for the 40sw as velocity goes.

Go to the Brian Enos forum, major and minor loads are discussed all the time.

And last but not least remember this, Google is your best friend for getting information from all over the internet on the topic you are looking for.

Well there are some alternatives cause Longshot seems to be unavailable.. Actually all powders are short in supply
