This is the first scope i have ever owned or used. I do possably have a eye problem, this i will have checked on monday at doctor. I couldent get the rectile to come into focus, it was always a little fuzzy. i tryed to adjust the focus when i got home as per nightforce instructions but that did not help all i managed to do is create another problem. now at full magnification i can see the rectile perfectly (still a little fuzzy) but at minimum magnifacation i cannot see it at all, it kinda just disapears.

day at the range:

I have been told that the scope/rifle combo had been sighted in at about 100m which sounds about right because @ the range i got a pretty Ok group @ 50 and 100 meters. but at 200m I put 10 rounds down range and when i got the target it was still brand spanking new. I guess i dont know how to use a scope because i was still trying to aim in the cross of the Mil-dot rec. how do i adjust for distance on a scope, is their any good reading out there?

any help, i know this is alot i just dont know where to start

just a quick update.

if i force myself to focus on the rectile i can see it. but if i focus on the sight picture the rectile dissapears. is this me or the scope. i hope me at its cheaper to get glasses then it is to get a new scope

With my nightforce I must adjust the paralex for distance I am shooting, then adjust the focus dial at your eye,it comes very clear, mine is a benchrest model 8 to 32by 56mm

i am not sure the nxs has a focus dial. what mine has is a little alan bolt that i un-did then turned the whole magnification dial counter-clockwise like the (Very unclear) manual says. is yours diffrent? sounds like their are two rings that turn on the eye peice with the benchrest version. is this tru?

The only time I use a allan key is to set my elevation & windage dials to O after targeting in at range i am going to shoot,

You have a couple of problems here ( your eyesight should not be an issue.) The left hand knob is paralax adjustment. Run it to infinity. Then adjust your focus using the eyepiece as directed. If done properly, your reticle and image are on the same focal plane and they will (should) be in focus.
Now when you use the scope at closer ranges you will need to dial in with the parallax adjustment to again bring things (image and reticle) into focus.

wow, i feel SLOWWWWW. i just figured it out. nice optics. what is the distance between the dot's on the mil-dot rec. i guess it changes with magnification. is their a good book to learn all the math. ie. moa etc.
