Both have been through Parker-Hale's shop: that is their front-sight ramp on them both.
Good point is that PH didn't let them out the door without a GOOD or NEW barrel.
The Number 4 has been docked, yes.
The Number 1 (SMLE) is still full-length and so is a candidate for restoration. Photos don't show well on my machine; is it missing the Bridge Charger Guide?
There is more to restoring one of these than just slapping on the new wood. It has to be FITTED and the BEDDING must be checked. Lots of people here willing to help. I restored my first one 47 years ago and, in pure ignorance, got it (almost) right. It is a 1907 Enfield, Navy-issue Mark I*** with the original taper-bore barrel. People have been trying to buy it for 46 years now and it still isn't for sale!
You should post full information on these (factory, year, precise Mark, any weird markings) so somebody will know what is RIGHT for a particular rifle. That way you don't put Coachwood onto an Ishapore or American Black Walnut onto a Lithgow!
LOTS of help here!
Have fun!
