thank you sir! i was pretty damn sure it was but some times i really dont know whats goin on in my own brain... i took a good whack to the noggin when i was a kid and some of the intelligence leaked out lol

You'll know too much leaked out if you start wearing red ties and voting liberal. ;) Then it'll be time for a ### change

Yep they are short action, I have one and it shoots very well. Some days I can put 5 rounds the size of a dime @ 100yds. I have not tried longer distance since I don't have a place to do it.

I roll my own and I use cci benchrest primer with 43grs of Varget and 175gr Sierra Matchking HPBT.

For a scope...may I suggest you look at the Vortex Viper PST 6-24X50? It is available with either a first focal plane or a second focal plane reticle, and with either MOA or MRAD subtensions. Very cool scope with awesome glass, an etched reticle, variable illumination, side paralax focus adjustment, customizable rotational stop and a great warranty to boot. I got to see one last week, I was very impressed with it and one will be coming home with me very soon!

Oh yeah, nice looking rifle! Let us know how it shoots once it is fully assembled.

Crashman - thanks for the sugestion iv been checkin out the vipers, they seem to be a great scoped for the price from what i have been reading..

i dont see this thing being put together any time soon haha, got a few other things on the go - the .338LM is getting a NF scope, tikka .338wm is getting a muzzle break as well as been thinking about rebareling to a heavy contour, sorta curious to see how far i can push a round made for hunting....
