Just arrived at the site and have been lurking for about a week after bumping into a member (Peter?) at the local Le Baron sports while doing the paperwork on an SKS. We chatted it up at the checkout line and he thoroughly endorsed the site as a great resource, and I'm grateful for the tip!
As for me, I grew up on the US side of the border, taught by my father in the art of shooting and firearm maintenance and took the next 20 years off to raise my family and build a career. Finally got around to getting my PAL last year, and as a former farm boy found the class and test to be a real no-brainer and would encourage anybody with no firearm experience to just take the leap and do it, you'll be a better shooter and owner for it.
Since then, I've been excited to get back into something I really loved as a kid and passing on my Father's lessons on to my own kids, while also expanding my own knowledge at the same time (never too late, I suppose).
Anyway, thats my deal and I look forward to being a member here and will be sure to wipe my feet at the door before coming in.
