So just reaching out to the community for some insight.

I currently use a 11 LB. wheelchair with no anti tip bars or breaks and I myself usually range from 105-115 lbs. Great upper body strength though so weight is not a problem.

I am looking at picking up a shotgun for trap shooting and have currently tried out a Remington 1100 modified choke and a Remington 11 full choke. In my limited experience I have preferred non pump action and modified choke .

Edit - My Measured LOP is 12.5

My questions is what in all your experiences is a good start out shotgun for trap, what make/model/Gauge did you use, 12ga vs 20ga etc, what was good? what was bad? etc. Not super expensive but a mid range budget.

Really depends on several factors. Price of the gun, how much do you want to spend ? Most people shoot 12 gauge, more pellets to hit the birds, but bigger recoil. If recoil is an issue, first try someones 12 gauge in a semi auto, with a 28 to 30 " barrel. A full choke will allow you to let the bird get out farther if timing is an issue. The 12 gauge recoil is much reduced as compared to a break action. If that is to much still, try the 20 gauge, also in a semi auto, recoil is very light. You can buy cheap shell catchers for a semi auto, so your shells don't hit the shooter next to you. A break gun like the BT99 is a super gun, largley dedicated to trap, but operating the action from a chair might be a pain in the ass, you will be the judge. You do not in any way need a dedicated trap model, as hunting models are used all the time, so this way you can control your expences way better !

At 16 yds, the 1100 you shot with a mod choke is ideal. Like was mentioned, if you wanted to move to a more mainstream trap gun the BT99 is an economical and yet quality way to go.

Lots of trap shot with the 1100 though.

You bet there is lots of trap shot with the 1100. At one time reasonable priced firearms like the model 1100 and the model 12 winchester before it, dominiated the trap scene. Not used just among entry level shooters but among some of the sports best at a national level as as well as the local level.

Le barons is selling the Beretta A400 sporting in 30inch and 32inch for $1150. I use it for trap, although not a dedicated trap gun I find it more then serviceable. Soft shooting compared to my Beretta O/U.
BT99 would be my second choice.

How the shotgun fits should also be a consideration.

Baikal makes a nice clean sporting model of their 18 line. I prefer field guns but really liked the baikal. $300 new and I believe the ejector can be turned over to just extract for you to save the empty hulls. 1/3-1/4 the price of the bt99 which is a great gun. If you think you'd like to get into doubles or skeet a sxs my be worth looking at. They don't need as much angle to open as an o/u does to clear out empty hulls and reload. For semis beretta is hard to beat

Hi there. I live in nanaimo and regularly shoot trap at the nanaimo fish and game club. I shoot a bt-99 and would be more than happy to let you try it. I also have a couple of other shotguns in 12 and 20 gauge that you could try. The number three trap house was recently renovated and is wheelchair accessible. I would be happy to go with you or meet you there. Just send me a message here or email me at rlmaltby@hotmail.com.

Now that's a good offer.

Just to re-itterate (no idea how to spell that)... If you don't mind shooting a semi-auto, the 1100 you shot is a better target gun than many that have been mentioned and can be had cheap. I just sold one for $300.

They can be a nightmare in a marsh but I didn't feel that was your intended use for the gun.
