New to Wolverine Supplies - Trapping Supplies

Agreed. I would much rather dispatch an animal suddenly and humanely with a 40-55 grain pill to the brain. Maybe the new stuff is markedly better than the old stuff in that regard, but there's nothing ethical about an animal winding up in a leghold trap.

wow you must be a hell of a shot....if your a coyote hunter/caller the odd one will get away wounded they are such tough animals it's redicilous, they will drag themselves for miles if you have a hind quarter hit! Judging by your comment you don't have a whole lot of experience,I shoot my share a year they are a pest around the cows and sheep...just waiting on calves being born! No you will not hit everyone in the vitals......

They key words in your post are "the odd one will get away". You are doing your best to be an ethical and humane hunter as opposed to setting legholds and checking them twice a day (or less) where an animal could be in agony for half a day.

my friend I have no problem putting my hand in my leg holds...they are soft catch and the chain is on a spring,if they yank the chain won't bootom out!!! Did you know the rules and regulation for footholds in Canada is a lot different then United States!! I will put 2 fingers in my footholds they do not hurt....the jaw even has a 3/8 of a inch gap soo the animals don't suffer, do you know the regulations????

I don't know Manitoba's regulations - I don't live in Manitoba.

So would you let your relatively young child step on it if in the woods? Would you want your dog stepping on it?

Given how excited you seem to be over this, I think you need to switch to decaf.

Most injuries will happen if someone doesn't run a swivel on his chain which is a must...coyotes and wolves are soo aggressive when caught they will hurt there legs, they roll over an over creating a lot of tension on the chain if you don't run swivels! Wolverines traps will have the swivel right on them.

Gotta love trapping! Just sent 13 yotes, and 9 fox to auction.
taking in 50 coyotes tomo to North America fur auction open house in Winnipeg......quality of the fur seems amazing this year! Lol tells me I did a hell of a job last year the more coyotes around the ####tier the fur my friend!

You are talking to a guy who has zero knowledge of real trapping and what he does know he most likely watched on Oprah or read in Cosmo. His mind is already closed to any real truth or knowledge, might as well talk to a stone, you will get just as far.

Not to mention some of us wouldn't be here because your anscestors would have froze to death without a fur on their back, or in their bed.

It's hilarious watching the fanboys getting all butthurt!! The guy just expressed an opinion. Why do you feel the need to attack him?

It's the authoritative nature of an uninformed post that gets people riled up. It was more than an opinion. I don't know ANYTHING about trapping. I just shut up and read the thread and I've learned something.
Folks who do know something are "attacking" him because they are probably under attack all the time, just like gun owners are by antis. We always have our guard up.

My experience with trapping was in 1999 in Powassan, Ontario. My friend's dog got caught in a neighbor's trap and was set on by some sort of predator.

Maybe things have changed. Doesn't interest me in the least. Leaving an animal alive but defenseless until I get around to killing it isn't appealing to me. You may feel differently, as is your right.

YOu assume all traps leave the animal alive, because you have seen one scenario.....why don't you check up on power snares and conibears...drowning sets for beaver, mink and muskrat...deadfalls for lynx and wolverine....
