Hi all
Just picked up a 1945 Izzy TT33 from Lever Arms here in Vancouver, BC along with a bunch of Czech surplus ammo, and I have to say I am pretty impressed with it. At $204 (total cost for the pistol), where can you get a better deal on a robust and reliable handgun that is reasonably accurate? I just have one adverse comment on it-I notice that when you have the action racked back and slap in a full mag, the slide automatically moves forward into battery, at full ####. I also have a Norinco 213, which is a copy of the TT33, except it's in 9mm, and the slide will stay in the open position when the mag is inserted until you hit the release. Is this a normal thing with the TT33? Kinda freaked me out at first.....
 
aaahhhhh......It's not suppose to do that. might want to take her apart for a good cleaning. if it still does it after that...I would take it back.
 
I have a 1936 and so does a friend of mine. They both will drop the slide if you slam a loaded magazine in. Neither one will do it on an empty or if magazine is inserted without a lot of force. Almost seems to me like it was designed this way. Would love to hear from an authority on this.
 
Its not a design feature. I have few toks, some will not release slide on impact while inserting mags. Others do that when mag is inserted with light force. This all depends on the slide cutout for slide release lever. If its worn or cut at the bad angle the spur of the lever will have nothing to catch and will release on impact. I noticed this stuff hapens on all toks that are well used.
Condition can be corrected by filing the spur of the slide catch by giving it sharper edge or by filing 90 degree plane on the slide cutout for positive engagement.

I seen this happen on well used 1911 as well.

By the way ww2 toks are made by malnurished children so buyer beware.:(

I fired my buddy's before I bought mine, and his did it too. There's a guy on YouTube called Rugersix that was demonstrating his Yugo version, and it did the same thing.
Seems to be a common issue, or maybe it was designed that way to be ready for immediate action....:confused:

A lot of guns will do that sometimes when you slam the mag in hard. I've had it happen to me on my Glock 17 a few times and a couple times on my friends Glock 22. I've heard it can happen on Beretta M92s as well but I never actually used one so I can't vouch for it.
 
good in a combat situation, and zombies too!.

i've seen a pistol before that had no slide release, to get the slide to close you had to push the follower in the mag down and it would slam home.

lol it was like a handheld mini M1 garand

A month or so ago someone sent me a email that is was available in Vancouver at a decent price. Sorry can't remember where but I would start with Lever and work from there. Case price was pretty decent and I think it is one ctg. that is going to be hard to find soon.
