Maks are nice guns. What caliber is it now ?
mak 8 x 18 is hard to get but it is a blowback action so you are rather limited.

Don't worry about the purists. There are lots of Maks left around.
Enjoy it.
If you want to see lots of other Mak toys go to makarov.com

Its in .380 auto now.I may take her for a test drive sunday morning.

380 makes sense for the gun.
I just noticed I put down 8 x 18.
Should have been 9 x 18. I put a Pierce rubber grip on mine. Makes a big difference.

Enjoy it.

Well, I do have my 12(6), but I sure don't "cringe" at the rebarrelled guns (making them restricted only)...I think it's wonderful when someone can do this own one that they otherwise would never be able to.

The 12(6) BS is very unfair and terribly stupid.

Your gun looks great!

Jeff/1911.

I talked to him about the conversion & he said it was a work in progress. Guess it finally progressed! Looks good to me & it keeps maks out of the smelters. Doug also said he is experimenting with rebarreling .32 to .30 cal. What did it run with the conversion?

If anyone asks you could say it was a KGB prototype for a threadless silencer system - or tell 'em it's the 'sniper version' :D

I am curious as to how long the whole process took? I mean, from the time you left the pistol with them till it was ready for pick up? The reason I ask is that I just had a PPK sent to them for the same type of conversion. . .

Thanks, Emil

I think it took around a month and a half............most of the time was waiting on the CFC for a FRT# i believe.

It shoots great, quite snappy.....i love it.

Sweet toy. I got one of thoes bad boys myself last year here on CGN. Mine has the .380 Fed arms barrel with 1.2x28 threads. Looks mean with a fake suppressor:cool:

Man, I can't beleave at $375, Tarn's Mak is still in the EE, I payed $400 for mine after the seller reduced from $500 and I was laughin'. This is a chance for non 12-6 guys to own a truley small pistol, not to mention a legend. I'm half tempted to buy it my self to have a pair....
