Paid for this Saturday, called the CFO yesterday afternoon and had the transfer put through. Brought it home last night after work.

It's an Czechoslovakian Alfa-Proj model 3551C in .357Mag. I'll give a range report after I get out with it this weekend, providing the weather co-operates.

This is my first revolver, and I had a hell of a time trying to clean it last night. I didn't do the job I wanted to do to it as I was scurred to take all the little innards out without instructions, which I could not find... anywhere. So... soak with G96, then blast it with air from an air can and wipe up the gunk, and repeat.

Well, it's time for a range report.

I was shooting a few different loads of Fiocchi .357 Mag and .38 Spec. ammunition. The revolver handled very nicely. I had no hiccups in the operation even while nearing the 200 round mark. As expected, after firing the .38spec ammunition, the .357 cases became a bit difficult to eject, but not once did any of the cases fail to eject from the cylinder, just a slight bit of resistance.

The single action trigger was nice. Admittedly I do not have a wealth of experience with handguns, but I found this trigger to be a pleasure to pull. The DA pull is heavy, and could use with a good polishing to smoothen, and hopefully lighten it. The SA action pull is a tad on the heavy side as well, but it breaks sharply and cleanly.

For $550 you could probably find a lot worse revolvers. Looking the revolver over the parts are put together very well. The cylinder is symmetrical with all chambers in the firing position.

I would recommend this revolver to anyone who would like a revolver, but can not afford a more expensive Smith or Colt offering.
 
Thanks for the review, I am really interested in these. Did you pay extra for the wood grips? I see a bunch of places sell them with the rubber grips but I like the wood better.

Yes the wood grips were an extra $45. Prophet had a couple different ones which are made by AP, they do look and feel much nicer than the rubber ones that come stock.
