New toy - HK MR556. Anyone else have experience with these?

I love the profile of the HK's... And the rear aperture sight is so German I want some Kolsche and a Schnitzel right now. The only part that irks me is the stock, don't care for the look of it at all. I WISH I had experience with them that's for sure, good job man.
The stock clings on webgear very well, it is not pretty but it serve many purposes.
Notice how the no slack latch mechanism on the stock works - and wonder why Troy basically "borrowed" the idea in their battle axe stock? It is designed based on feedback from their main customers.
I didn't notice that at all, very cool actually.

I never bothered with the full rifle, just got the HK mr556 upper and mated it to a Colt M4 lower (evil bastard that I am, but I mostly did not like the HKs grip and stock and I like the basic stuff on Colts). It's a great rifle, you will enjoy it 
Finally had it out to the range today. Two primer strikes that failed to ingnite the round in about 200 rounds downrange (which I should note is an issue I've had with this lot of Norinco ammo in my other 5.56 guns as well - I blame this batch of ammo) and no other problems. Very accurate - sighted it in at 50m and the group was well within an inch, with cheap Norinco ammo. Recoil was light, and it was a pleasure to shoot. Trigger was WAY better than my Colt USA 'M4' 6920, and noticeably better than the one on my SA15.7.
Really noticed the weight difference between it and my Colt SA15.7 though - haven't weighed them, but the SA15.7 with a SpecterDR felt markedly lighter and better balanced than the HK with an OS4, even though the optic on the HK is lighter.
Only issue aside from the two FTFs: The geometry of the magwel is different than other ARs, which I was already aware of. This meant that some of the Pmags we had wouldn't seat properly.
Overall - nice rifle. I think it's a keeper

I agree, but I should've noted that I blame the ammo - old Norinco. This crate seems to have some issues, as I've had failures with this ammo in other guns too. And 'light strikes' isn't really accurate, as the primers were in fact well-dimpled - they just failed to do their job. I'll edit the above to reflect this!
