Just picked up a new Remington 7600 carbine in 35 Whelen from Ellwood Epps.
Redfield base and scope mounts.Going to mount an old Bushnell 1.5-4.5 Scopechief and then wring it out.Moose should be in some serious trouble this October!

Is this gun actually "new" or "new to you"? Is the bbl marked "CARBINE"?

I didn't know Remington was making Carbines in 35Whelen for shipment to Canada.

Is it maybe a new Remington 750 "Woodsmaster" Auto-loader ???

These are being shipped now in both rifle & carbine versions.

Upgraded gas system over the 7400's, better "checkering", cheek-piece stock with Limbsaver pad, sling swivel studs.

I emailed Ellwood Epps to confirm that yes; they were 7600 carbines in 35 Whelen with satin finished wood stocks. They were a limited run; my guess likely out of Grice or as a test to see if there was interest to perhaps look further runs...perhaps a trial to see if it's worth considering should they revamp the pump rifle similar to what they did with the semi-auto in going to the model 750. Just my thoughts.....

Yes it's new.It is marked carbine.Epps apparently brought in a few. They had already sold 3 to some lads out in B.C. by the time I picked mine up.They said there was quite a flurry of phone calls about this rifle.I had a 7600 before in this calibre with the 22 " barrel but stupid me I traded it off.I currently have a 700 CDL in 35 W.This should make a good companion piece for it.Thanks for the data BCsteve.Supercub $679 plus tthe government share. Not a bad deal all in all.I did pick up a set of dies as well so looks like I better get shooting and do some reloading.

I already have a 22" 7600 in 35Whelen and a Carbine 760 in .308. I think a Carbine Whelen would be a handful and suggest getting a good pad installed. I put a 3/4" English style Decelerator on mine.

Speer 250s and Remington 200s have shot well in all three 7600 Whelens I've owned.

Good groups S.C.My last 7600 in 35 W. really liked the 250 gr. factory loads as well as the Federal 225 gr.trophy bonded bearclaws.Didn't seem to like the 200 grain loads.I have only fired a few 250 gr. Remington factory loads through the 700 CDL.I also had a 760 carbine in .308 with a Williams Fool Proof peep sight. They make a great bush rifle.
Beretta Boy,you're already in Orillia.Pop into Epps and have a look at them.(take your Visa card!)

I also bought a 35 Whelen at epps

I called Sunday july 16th, then got in my car and drove
to epps to pick out a Rem 7600 Carbine 18.5" barrel . They had three left. I was very surprised to read this post. Thanks BAC4 for the heads up. I just cleaned the packing grease off it and put it in the vault. I think this was a nice find at 669.00 before tax and a free box of shell. Limited run promo deal!
Thanks again BAC4. I have been looking for this gun for years. Never thought I would be able to find a new model in 35Whelen in a carbine.

Did it come with a recoil pad?

I just e-mailed Wes and asked him to set one aside for me as well :D

No recoil pad. I think this gun will bark. The gun came with a box of Rem corlock shells as well. Enjoy your new Rem.. See ya!

Supercub-I just put 20 rounds of Remington 250 gr factory through it.It does have a bit of a bite.I'll either go with a decelerator pad on the wood stock or maybe go with Remington factory synthetics with an R3 pad.(You won't notice the recoil when you shoot at a moose anyway.)I was averaging 3",3 shot groups. My friend was putting them into 1 hole. The gun seems like it will shoot so I had better start practicing.Going on holidays so its not likely I'll get out until the end of the summer.Tikka & S.C. enjoy your new rifles!Cheers.
