Well, we just had a little daughter last week and friends where commenting on how cute she was and how I'll have to buy a shotgun to keep the boys away. I thought "hell, that's a great idea" and when I saw this other little beautie in the store I couldn't resist. I can't find much info out there about these. It's marked Nikko, model evb720, made in Japan. I appears to be a copy of a Browning Superposed. It's 20g, full over mod.28"tubes. I payed 500$
Feels and points like a dream...anyone know anything about it?

The Nikko(Golden Eagle and other variations) was made alongside the Winchester model 101 in the Japanese Olin Kondensha factory. Minor differences exist but supposedly most all internal parts are directly interchangable.
It has been opined that Nikko kept the best wood blanks for themselves rather than put them on the 101's.
Judging by the pics, you got one hellava deal other than it may appear from the pics that the receiver has been chrome plated ???? The engraving looks directly comparable to the 101 as well.

Yes, the reciever is most defianly chromed, from the factory I'm sure. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but it's still just a nice feeling little gun...and the price was right.

That's one ###y gun...and for 500 bucks, you got a steal!! If your daughter every grows up to be half as good looking as that gun....you'll need a 12ga!

Nikkos are one of the better shotgun deals you can find. As noted above they were made in the same factory as the Winchester 101 but go for much less than the Winchesters particularly in the smaller gauges.

The Nikko is very similar but not identifical to the 101. There are some minor variations such as how the barrels attach to the receiver. The 101 has a closed receiver while the Nikko is more like the Miroku/Browning style where the barrel lumps fit into the receiver.

Does your gun have inertia or mechanical triggers? I know the 101 has inertia triggers but I can't remember about the Nikko.

Triggers:
Ya, know, I'm not sure. I haven't shot it yet! But playing with it, I can fire both barrels without re-breaking the gun, so I guess they are not inertia.
Those would be mechanical triggers. An inertia trigger requires the recoil from the first shot to fire the second.
