Well, finally decided to try out a CZ 452 Varmint. Took her to the range for some initial tests, and it performed admirably:dancingbanana:. Didn't have camera with me at the range, so no photo's there. I am planning a trip tomorrow, so I will remember the camera. I just finished doing the trigger job that is on the net; found the spring at TSC Store, as well as the aluminum tape. Has gotten rid of most of the creep, and I think it is now under a pound for trigger pull. I will post pics of targets as soon as I get them. Here's some CZ #### to hold you over until then.

All I had kicking around was the silver scope:D, but I will be putting something else on in the future.

Looks pretty nice. I need to get a CZ. How does it like the Yellow Jackets? It's nice to see other people using them (I love them in my Savage).

Well, as promised I was out again yesterday putting some more rounds through the new toy. Was kind of gusty, with 20 kph winds. I think it did alright, but I didn't seem to be able to find anything that it REALLY liked. American Eagle seemed to perform fairly well, as did the Yellow Jackets. I put about 100 down range yesterday, and about 50 or so on Sat..

Here are some targets: 50 yds. prone Sunday July 08:

Here's one from Sat. 25 yds. Bench, I didn't keep track of what ammo for what target:

I also decided to have some fun with golf balls. Only one really stood out as interesting, it was shot with Federal Champion 40 Grain Solid.

All the others that I shot went clean through with very little deformation and a non-descript exit hole, much like this:

It was a blast watching the golf balls fly through the air when they were hit. Would be cool to have a competition at the range to see who cold get the ball from 25 yds to say 150 or 200 yds the quickest.

Winchester power points

There are 3 or 4 of us at our range shooting CZ varmints and other than target ammo the most accurate hunting round seems to be Winchester power points from Wally world or Cambodia tire. :canadaFlag:

I have good results with Federal 510 in my 452 American. For the price, this is my main range ammo. Yellow Jackets grouped well too. I have also had excellant results with Wolf Extra and SK Standard, but these two are kind of pricey. The Brooks trigger kit made a world of difference in my gun. It had a horrible trigger from the factory.

I bought a 452 Varmint today. Those groups look similar to my 504. With the 504 there wasn't much difference between $5.55 Lapua and 510 and 710. 711 was probably the best. SGB looked good but the next lot was average. Got some FIOCCHI today (Made in Mexico). The next trip to the range should be eventful.

I sent a few rounds downrange today from my CZ as well. Everything I tried worked great except for Yellow Jackets. I got about 3-4" groups at 50 yards. We used to play a game with golf balls. Three of us, would take turns shooting a golf ball, out as far as we could. The ball would go further, and if you miss, your out. The last one to make a hit at extended range wins.

Back out again today. I am taking my restricted club course, so I have to put in 8 hours of probationary range time. Most of the time I was there today was spent shooting pistols, 22, 9mm and a .45 1911, what fun:D. anyways after that was done I sent a few downrange with the CZ. I managed to get a rear and front bag finally this past week, so the results are a bit better.

My target today. Eley Club, T22, American Eagle and Remington Target. I think the American Eagle and Eley are the best so far. Difference in price is substantial.
