Hi there guys! So this is a little embarrassing but while I have been shooting for years, and have watched my rest. and non-rest. collection grow, I have never actually owned a .22LR . Went down to the LGS today and picked up this nice little cz 512. What a ###y rimfire (IMO). A little annoying but the store that sold the firearm does not sell the magazines for it. Are they the same ones as the CZ bolt 452's take? If anyone knows where to get them, that would be a big help. I have seen 10 rounders as well...

The build quality is quite good! As well is the out of the box accuracy. In my research I found a few complaints about the initial "squishyness" of the trigger. I can assure you that mine is fairly light, and very crisp. Threw a little vortex diamondback scope on her and managed 3 groups sub 1 inch at 75 yards, and I'm really no great shot! The other two groups were both less than 2" and I think the flyers can be attributed to the fact I was using bulk AE. I was planning on moving back in 25 yd increments to 150, but someone else showed up and I didn't want to be a target stand hog. I'll get some longer range groups tomorrow or the next day and see how it does.

Anyone else have this handy and accurate little semi? Any finicky ammo tips? I was going to try CCI next.

Nice new toy! Congratulations!

Try a box of 100-rd CCI Mini Mag (HV). Also a box of 100-rd CCI SV. For sure CCI Mini-mag will cycle good. But don't get more than a box of CCI-SV just in case it won't cycle. My rimfires (rifle and pistols) likes CCI Mini Mag and Blazer. Pistols also has some luck with CCI SVs. Not sure if CCI SVs can provide enough power cycle your rifle since the action is still tight and probably needs few hundred rounds to complete the break-in cycle.

I've read very good reviews on this rifle. If I was in the market for a "quality" semi this one would make the short list.
However, I'm enjoying my rimfire bolts and levers too much at the moment.....Enjoy and shoot safe.

Cool, I'm planning to get one too, thanks for the info.

Try the CCI MiniMag round nose 40 grain or Blazer, they are great in my 10/22 (accuracy and cycling).

MAGS CZ 452/453/455/513/512 in 22lr and .17all take the same mag 22 win mag is different. Wholesale sports has 5 and 10 shot poly mags.

The 22LR and 17m2 use one mag, the 17HMR and 22 WMR use another. Just for clarification, before somebody tries to stuff an HMR in a 22LR mag. ;)

I have the 512 in a wmr and it is very nice.
Threw up a paper target at 60 yards to see what it could do and got 5 rounds into a nice neat little hole around a 1/2" in diameter.
Those 5 shots were hurried shots so I was amazed with the results. Took it to a gopher patch and it held up well, no problems what so ever.
You made the right choice. :)

10 round mags in a 22 WMR are also a bonus.
