New Toy?

I think that the T97 will be the one you want ( unless it is unobtainium ) I had one of the T97A's from Lever Arms and when the letter came around about that rifle and the failure of a few reference hearings myself and a couple of friends basically tried wearing it out. We put well over a thousand rounds through it ( I seem to remember the case of ammo was 1200 rounds ) and there was never a hiccup in it's functioning. Sure it looks ugly and had a very weird soft trigger ( this might be improved on new version ) but I actually liked it more than the Tavor I bought as a consolation present to myself. The Tavor is a bit cooler but it isn't 3 times cooler like it's price would suggest.

Not sure how you are making your comparison, but I also own a Swiss arms and the trigger is nothing at all like any two stage. That and my FAMAE have similar triggers, but not the XCR.

I also will say the XCR trigger is better than my Geisselle SSA, not just "as good". I've spoke to others with the same experience as me

So by being too long you mean you want a restricted XCR? Why not just use an AR then? AR's are lighter and more accurate and much cheaper to customize (I'm sure you already know this).
By 2 stage I mean that my Swiss has a long light take up the trigger travels through before you get to the slightly heavier spot you can feel, once you get to that spot any more pressure breaks it cleanly.
The last XCR I shot which was a brand new most recent production one had a very long take up similar to my Swiss but didn't break nearly as cleanly as the Swiss once you got past that stage. Maybe there was something wrong with that one as from what I remember the other XCR's (4 or 5 of them) I've shot including my buddy's -M were more like a standard AR trigger, nothing special.
I'm not bashing the XCR as I do like them but the ones I've played with definitely don't have a competition level trigger and don't group nearly as tight as an AR.

If you're looking to get a T97, Al Flaherty's still has a few first batch preorder spots open, with a 20% deposit. It has been confirmed by NS to both Al Flaherty's and SFRC that they will be arriving in stores next week. Technically a Red rifle, but the early reports are very encouraging.
