New Toz?

The importer (Armrus) was selling them at that price before they closed down.

Last time I checked with Elwood Epps in Orillia, they had a like-new one in mint condition available. They were asking $ 129.-

I grabbed one from Armrus when they were cleaning house and never looked back! Free floating barrel, adj trigger, blond wood stock. whats NOT to like! I've got mine sighted in for "stingers" and can shoot the wings off a fly with it! you'll probably want to scope it though. the rear iron sight is this goofy flip-wheel thinggy that I wouldent trust to shoot percision shots, ok for beer cans at 50 yrds I'd guess, but I never even shot it with them on~
it also cocks on opening, no biggiy, but at first I thought I'd bought a bum gun with a rough action, once I figured it out, I was quite happy with it.

Cheers,

I also have a TOZ model 78 and now I just bought a VOSTOCK TOZ-12 from Ellwood Epps. I can't find a lot about these guns except that it was probably made in the 60's or early 70's and used as a trainer for the DOSAAF. The trade name "Vostok" was used by Tula for the export market as was the name "Baikal". I showed it to the boys and they said the weight of the gun and the peep sights are quite similar to the CIL 190 they use in the Junior Rifle club. I tried it out last weekend and wow is it ever an accurate gun!

Gotta love those Russian guns! :D
