We are in the market for a new Trap machine. We have a GMV superstar that throws singles doubles and continental, and would like the new machine to be able to do the same. Are budget is about $8,000.00

Anybody bought a new Trap lately?

Our club has 2 GMV Superstars and 2 Pat Traps. Both are good machines but as the guy that maintains and repairs the traps I'd go with the Pat Traps - they are a much simpler design. My experience has been that electrical problems on the Superstars can be a real pain to figure out. Our oldest Superstar (a 274 singles only machine) is 20 years old now and still works great - just requires a little TLC.

Of course if you have a repair guy close by either will do.

We just bought a new Pat and also have a lightly used GMV Superstar. Both are great machines. The Pat throws a curving doubles target, but everyone (and I mean everyone, including ATA) seems to accept that without complaint. The Pat is much easier to work with and easy to adjust.
