I just got my TR24G in on friday and had an opportunuity to give it a run during the Connaught service rifle match on the weekend. I believe it's the first in the country so I thought I would give it a review, as best as I can.

Here it is as seen on Trijicon's webpage:

It is a true 1x, almost works like an Aimpoint, but has some parallax or image shift at this setting, not an issue when used for the ranges the 1x was designed for. Works great as a CQB sight and easier to use in the BAC application than a 3.5x or 4x ACOG.

The Green reticle is AWESOME, does not wash away not even on green backstop, the fiberoptic light soure is very effective and it has a built in adjustable shade, which is required in bright sun light.

The triangle post was not too large, at 1x for CQB it's about 16MOA so very easy to acquire and use.
At 4x it's about 4moa, this is a bit large, but I had no issues using it even at 500m.

The turrets have a zero reset on them, simple pull up then reset dial, no tools required.
The tube is 30mm and flat black.

This is obviously not a precision application scope, but is incredible for CQB to 300m applications and very functionnal out to 500m. I like it alot, everybody who handled it at the match thought the green reticle was very nice. I found the optics to be very clear, the magnification dial has a very agressive and large knurl pattern to it making it very easy to operate with gloves.

This scope seems to be out there to compete with scopes like S&B and other 1x scopes, I have no experience with the Short Dot so I can't compare, but I like this scope.

I do need to thank Ryan at Wolverine for getting this out to me very fast, he left me an e-mail on wednesday, I spoke to him on thursday and the scope showed up at me door friday morning as I was heading out for work :D:):) awsome service, again.

In this game price is never part of the equation :D

~$1,230 + usual government contributions.

It took a few months to get it but US is still just starting to get them.

I like the fact is has no BDC, it keep the optic clean without clutter, the dials are marked and are resetable, although they are not tactical type knobs they work very well with 1/4" clicks.

The green reticle really impressed me, I have a TA11 with the red donut and although it's very bright and clear, the green seem to offer even better contrast and intensity.

Nice review !!

I asked to be put on backorder list for those long ago with Wolverine...
But was quoted around 950 $
It don't surprise me that they never sent message those where in !

I thought it would be a sub-1000 optic here. I thought Trijicon had aimed to make it for the affordable but large general AR-15 market. It's retailing for mid-700s in the US after all isn't it?

NF is really nice also, I have the 2.5-10 NSX, but that is more of a precision scope vs a CQB type scope with some range capability.

The 1x is where this makes a difference.

I just looked on the web for US prices, some are going for $765us (but no stock), with exchange you are looking at ~$900cdn + shipping + taxes + duty.

I believe these also require an export permit.

Police Ordnance quoted me the same price so I will assume they are going on the MSRP + exchange.

I wonder how well these would perform over in Afghanistan? I was reading that other thread where someone asked for a good optic for his C8. Is it a wrong type of optic? I am new to optics, so I have no clue whats good for what.

It is a 30mm tube, so it's strong.
Waterproof is only 10 feet, IIRC
The reticle gives you Aimpoint type sighting, so no BDC or statia lines, but you do get th 4x magnification when needed.
I can't comment on the military rugedness of it, I didn't try to beat it up on the weekend :D
It is obviously more delicate than an ACOG (which has no moving parts, other then windage/elevation settings), but may not be more delicate than any other rugged variable scope.

300 is not a proof of strenght.

Trijicon makes a good product. Too bad it has no vert ref marks or lines. Its easier to hold off with that...

Just got my TR24G after waiting several months. Another week or 2 to wait for rings ( its going on a Ruger compact intended for deer/moose/bear).

For holdover in a hunting application was wondering if you could just use the bottom of the reticle rather than the point if you know its 4 moa in height . Anybody have experience with this?

$850 in stock at our store. Trijicon has been difficult to get but we have some inventory at this time. Sorry this is not listed on our website yet. Phil.

Just bought a TR24G from P&D!!! Should be here this week too! WHOOOHOOO!!!!

Can't believe it's only $850 considering the MSRP in the States is $900 with an 18-20 week lead time!!!

To be honest when I saw the first price posted and checked our price I went back to our original invoice to confirm our retail price before I posted the price on CGN. We are now sold out of this model but by coincidence our Trijicon rep is coming in this morning to take our new order and we will be ordering more of these models. This is one of my favorite scopes in the Trijicon line as I like the simplicity of the sight picture and boldness of the illuminated reticle for fast response. Phil.

Looking forward to playing around with it - I've wanted one since it was released in the US early this year.

I've tried Elcans, SpecterDR, TA31F ACOGs (donut and chevron), T1 Micro on Larue Mount, EOTechs, Burris Fastfire, TA33R8, and haven't found my 'ideal' quite yet. I'm hoping the TR24G is the hot ticket!

Thanks again for taking my money and shipping so quick - should be here today!
