I noticed Troy has a new pump action "ar" that they designed to get around a lot of the new laws around "assault rifles" in the more liberal states. Anyone know if this rifle will come to Canada? It looks pretty nice!
It's actually on the cover of Guns and Ammo this month.

IIRC Dlask Arms developed a pump AR. The RCMP in all their wisdom deemed it an AR variant and classified it restricted. This was about 7-8 years ago.

Using a AR15 upper and lower and the Troy PAR does not use either of those !!

The Dlask rifle was not interchangeable with standard AR15 uppers and lowers. They specifically built it not to be.

It was deemed a variant because they said they based it on the AR15. It's classification was based on words and not technical specifications.

the Dlask version couldn't mate an ar upper to it either, like the troy it was a completely separate design and was still classified wrongly. the troy will too more than likely then so there is no point.

plus a pump action ar look-a-like rifle is pretty much the firearms equivalent of the guy who only got to keep the clothes on his back and his car in the divorce.... just completely defeated.

No need for it in Canada. It will still be restricted, so what's the point?
Thanks for deciding what I need or don't, you make my life so much easier. Luckily I don't have that power, or no one would own those useless range only AR15s. Seriously, what's the point of that?

And aren't they supposed to be making a Canadian version with a weird lower that won't even take AR15 magazines?

Besides, we're all still waiting for the MPAR to be classified and it's been well over a year. At that rate we'd be lucky to see this Troy PAR classed before 2020.

The BOHICA syndrome is alive and well ..... "The RCMP isn't going to like it, so what's the point?"

That is the GD point! We gotta stop this auto-roll over each and every time the Pony Soldiers take a dislike to a new gun, In this case, it hasn't even hit this side of the line and the BOHICANS are lining up to be the first to acquiesce.

Only in Canada, you say .... pity.

Really please do let me know how you have determined that already??

It looks like an AR, therefore the RCMP with classify it as restricted. Doesn't make sense, but it's still going to happen. Don't get mad at me for making a logical prediction.

My point is, if it's restricted and you can only use it on a range, why would anyone chose a pump AR over a semi?

If someone makes a lower that takes different mags that wont have to be pinned, that's a whole different ball game.
