New Type 97? Anyone know any more info?

We developed the original FTU from T97.ca. In this copy of the FTU concept, it looks to me like you can't field strip your rifle without dismantling the optics platform entirely. With the original FTU, you can field strip the T97NSR without affecting your optics zero. Any comments appreciated.

Looks like they ripped off your design. Can't wait to see how they ripoff your LHG.

I'd be happy with a rock-and-lock AK or Vz58-mag version, or one that took XCR mags. Doesn't really matter to me, as I have lots of all three types of mags. Just make it flat-top and 7.62x39!

This Flat top version will feature left side mag release.

Finally, thats one of my biggest gripes gone. Now if only we could get a thumb safety selector.

- Balance is pretty terrible, all the weight is in the back; handles like a brick

Why do people always list this as a con? Rear heavy/feather light up front is great, it's where you have all your strength, gravity works for you instead of against you! If you're just carrying it in the bush, all the weight in cradled in your arms instead of dangling out front, if you're in a high ready or holding on target, all the weight is between your two most solid points of contact: your shoulder and firing hand, it's absolutely effortless. I thought the balance on my T97 was fantastic.

I find it easier to keep steady precisely because of all the weight in the back. The support hand has to do less gross work and can focus on fine-tuning. I'd still keep my AR due to the magwell, mag release and safety (I do 100% of my shooting at the range and I play for points and seconds)

I had mine out to the range Monday. It is stock no glass and was quite surprised that I was shooting consistent 3 MOA. Good enough for what I need.
