I am fortunate enough to belong to a shooting club that has over lying trap and skeet stations. This layout opens up a whole new world of shooting games that spells nothing but f-u-n.
The 2 most common ones are called SKrap and TReet.
Skrap is a long range game were we shoot trap thown birds from the 7 skeet stations. We shoot it as a marathon game were the idea is to be the last shooter still having any of their original 25 rds left. All shooters start on Skeet 1 and try to break 1 bird with the fewest no of shoots, break a bird and you are ready for Sk 2. We use a max of 5 attempts on ea station. Move around the skeet field 1 station at a time ti No 7 and then work back ...6-5-4 and so on. When you are out of shells [25] you are out of the game. Last person standing wins. A fun game with lotd og hooting, hollering and jeering.
TReet is just the opposite. Skeet birds from the 5 trap stations. Its close & fast with open chokes. All squad shooters line up behind TR 1. Ea shooter in turn shoots H-L-H-L-H and it goes pretty fast. Then move to TR 2 and repeat.....same for 3-4-5. Guaranteed that both these games will make you a better sporting clays shooter.
....and theres more. The Tincup Special is one of them. Try the first 2 and then pm me for the TC Special details.......even more fun. Sometimes 3 different shooters may shoot at the same bird ln turn [or piece of it] and shooter #2 scores 2pts for a hit and shooter #3 scores 3 pts for a hit.......fun-fun-fun-till my daddy took my shotgun [t bird] away.....Enjoy, it will help make your Happy New Year.
Those games defintely add a little fun to the skeet/trap club. Our version of Skrap was a 2 random trap bird and skeet bird report pairs from the skeet stations.
