Someone at work told me that shooting with dirty-ish brass is the same as shooting with a fouled barrel (distance shooting). He is on the opinion that brass that is too clean won't shoot quite as well as brass that was tumbled.

Of course, after they're cleaned ultrasonically they'll be resized. That usually involves a lube of some sort that's merely wiped off after sizing. Minute amounts of any residual lube usually takes care of the "too squeaky clean" problem.

How is 30min for 1500 cases long?

That's impressive capacity! After de-capping and resizing, I run smaller batches in the sonic cleaner for 16 mins in 1:1 water/vinegar, then 8 mins in warm water with baking soda and finish with 8 mins in distilled water so I can air dry them. I've been more than pleased with the results even though they're not what I would consider shiney.

Lagostina stainless steel/ copper cleaner is cheap and works great. If your ever put anything with bluing in you USC make sure there is no viniger left in the solution or kiss your bluin good bye

I have plenty of brass on hand so wet brass is not an issue for me.
I prefer stainless tumbling for brass cleaning over ultrasonic due to the way the brass sparkles after being tumbled.
I do own a commercial grade ultrasonic cleaner but it is used to clean pistols or gun parts.

As previously noted any acetic acid (vinegar) in the solution will trash bluing so be very careful.
