New Vortex Tactical site

And looking at the products once again a company gets so close only to drop the ball on some very important features..

:agree:

Their new Razor has good optics reviews, but the turrets do not look to be overly robust.
Why they chose to put the illumination rheostat back on the tube eludes me.
This is the weak point on the MK4 illuminated scopes.
I will be looking these over very carefully next week at SHOT

I would like to hear your impression on them as well as the new Viper PST tactical as they are supposed to have improved glass over the regular Viper.. and the only review I've found for the Razor was the snipershide one.

So can you give us a ball park??? I mean if street price on their high end stuff is under 1000 I might try it.. but 2500 on UNPROVEN scopes is more than I can gamble.

I don't think it will be that substantial! Just for an example the Canadian MSRP on the 2009 Viper Target scope, 6.5-20X50 Mil Dot is $730, and most stores are selling it at $600. So for a similar ratio, you can expect a $400 to $500 difference between the approx $2500 MSRP of the Razor scope to the actual street value. This of course is purely speculative as I have not seen the 2010 pice lists yet.

And these optics are not entirely unproven, the Vortex scopes have been available for several years now. Most if not all the bugs have been worked out by now, plus they have an excellent warranty--> which by the way I have never needed.

I should hopefully be seeing the new stuff in the next month or so, I will try to give a report then.
