Only issues I have experienced with surplus lacquer ammo is the chamber needs to be scrubbed good so the casing won't stick in it.

+ 1 with scrubbing the chamber, I had the same problems as you when I first got my VZ but I connected a cleaning rod to a drill and scrubbed it a lot and now it runs flawlessly.
