So picked her up tonight...loaded 56 gn FFFG and WOOT! definitely more going on then when i shoot my reminton army! Everyone on the range loved it.
Only had two gripes. 1 it's a real pain to get the caps on the nipple, there's so much space around them the caps tends to get wedges in beside the nipple if i'm not careful, and ever since i tried to cut my trigger finger off, i don't have quite the dexterity i used to. I have a capper around the work bench some where , i'll have to try it
2 the rammer seems to have a slighter tighter radius on the end of it then the ball itself does, and once rammed, the ball tends to stick to the face of the ram and pull back up. I'll pull the ram and polish the edges, and flatten out the radius a bit and see if it helps. I was using 454 balls, as thats all my local store carries, but i'll look around for 457's......still the 454 shoot well enough adn seemed tight in the chamber, maybe just touching up the end of the ram will be enough.
Happily the rammer handle doesn't fall down, and the cylinder pin has a spiral groove cut in it from the factory to help clear fouling. 5 cylinder and it still turns....now to clean the beast.
