New Web Site - Canadian Double Rifle Maker

A few years ago I watched a video of this gentleman taking apart a LC smith shotgun. I also remember one of his articles in Double Gun Journal.

I wonder if he builds his own action or uses a donor? Anyone know?

He does both. Depends on what the customer needs. Cost is much higher when he uses his own action compared to a donor action.

At one time he was using 20ga Browning SXS actions for conversion. This action has a double underbite lock, he was adding a Greener style crossbolt for a third fastener. The third fastener makes the action much stronger for rifle use.
There is a book out detailing the conversion of double shotguns to rifles. It is quite a process. I have seen three conversions done by a chap on ON; a .22rf, a .303 and a .450, iirc. Very impressive work, very beautiful rifles.

I have been to Nick's Shop many times. He is a true Craftsmen in the old world sense. He is also one of the most interesting Men I have ever met. With a very dry, typically British sense of humour.
His work is second to none and his prices reflect that.
