Anyone know anything about this deer? It was supposedly taken in Northern Ontario this past season.

Picture was sent to me by a friend in Alaska, with the following message: "Although not confirmed, this is probably a world record whitetail deer.... supposedly shot this fall in northwestern Ontario and weighing 440 lbs. before being field dressed."

Seen this one a few weeks ago on here. Dont know if its photoshopped or not but its certainly not new. Heard from someone that it is from a deer farm or something but I cant say for sure.

Good lord thats a big deer.
I guess they've got to get big or die of the deep snow or the wolves, bobcats, cougars etc... Sorry I havent heard anything yet, but sure hope it was in Nipigon territory.:D

I've had a feeling for years, theres gonna be some huge bucks come out of northwestern Ontario. The quality gene pool is there now.:)

I think from a fenced game farm in Wisconsin. That photo was floating arround here a week or so ago.

correct. From a high fence operation in Wisconsin. That buck is on their website, If I wasn't so lazy I'd find it for everyone. I don't know if I'd want to eat that deer, I bet he's pumped pretty full with growth hormones.

I dunno...farm shooting just seems like the easy way out. I'd rather go out with a friend for a week in the bush and shoot nothing than spend 3 hours on a farm and get a genetic freak of a buck.

That said, I've never gone hunting...

reminds me of this hunting season a guy was in Likely because he had a draw for moose in this area. I happened to bump into him at the store while I was picking up some supplies during the middle of the day.

I told him I seen a moose that morning standing in a small pond (more like a giant puddle) and exactly where I seen it. My directions were so precise the guy jokingly asked me if I had the moose hobbled there just for him. We shared a laugh and he left.

Funny part is next day I bumped into him with the moose in the back of his truck! He shot the damn thing within 50 feet or where I told him I seen it! :D

Yes it is a nice deer. But its a photoshop. Look at his left hand in relation to his arm. Look at how there is no shadow cast by the spruce over the deers hind quarter.

Some say cameras never lie but Photoshop can mislead even the most trained eye.

It really makes me wonder what this hunting world is coming to. Dont get me wrong I like taking big critters but why does one have to overexagerrate the size of an already monsterous deer? I'm sure this guy is happy for himself and will brag about how big his deer is.... but was it really a hunt?

Just my 2 cents
