Hi everyone. I see the new Wholesale Sports store is now open in Calgary at Deerfoot Meadows. I haven't been in there yet, but browsing their new website, I noticed that you can no longer browse for handguns. Are they still selling handguns out of their store? Do you have to physically go to the store to see what they have?

Any info would be great.
Thanks.

They've delisted handguns from the website (don't know why), but they still sell them in-store.

They never had them in their printed catalogue either... I think they are missing out on a pretty big market. However, TSE fills the void nicely! :)

New Great Store.........same sh*tty ass service...:)

PS...they hate handgunners and anyone who owns a black rifle....IMHO

Sounds like a hunter-only, oriented store

Their website has a lot of bugs in it i figured would be fixed by now...

Always felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff when I needed something, I will drive to Edmonton or mail order before I buy from them. Wholesale BLOWS. I can’t stress that enough.:puke:

+1 for that my friend.
TSE prices are better as well, not to mention selection.

I put in an $1400.00 order for reloading stuff on April 11th. Have not heard a peep since then. Not even a confirmatory email. Called them today (April 26th), stuff not shipped, they were just sitting on it.

I cancelled my order. Kind of a waste of time. I will not be ordering from them again.

never delt with wholesale, but SIR have been pretty good for me so far...

Thats funny cause SIR does not always have a good rep with the locals here, in person they are more like what was described above for the new Wholesale Sports store in Calgary.

The new facility looks like a Cabela's. It is pretty cool inside.

They are disorganized right now because they are under-manned. Lot's of great stuff though.

I just spent some time in Manitoba and visited both SIR and Wholesale. The new SIR store is a welcome change but the gun area could use a lot more stuff on the shelves. I nearly had a heart attack though...about 4 or 5 people asked me if they could help (even a gun counter guy!). I had to look around to make sure it was still SIR.

Wholesale was good too. I picked up some 223Rem and a swivel set for my Marlin 336RC. The gun boys let me kick some tires even when I told them I wasn't there to buy a heater. Got to handle the 4.5" Ruger 22/45 which convinced me I have to buy one.

Perhaps competition is a good thing?;)

Lots of great stuff if you're looking for 100 gallons of deer piss. I hate to get into a rant here but I get real tired of going to wholesale only to find they have NONE of the standard calibres in stock like 308 223 9mm 40S&W and 45ACP. The excuse I hear for why they won't/don't carry more restricted firearms and don't advertise is because of their fear for being "disliked" by the public.

???

This is one company that is going downhill fast, no catalog yet, absolutely sh**ty web sight, no phone service, wow its amazing how far they have slid in two years

If I may, quite a few "punks" buy their guns at wholesale sports.

As well, there was a break in a couple of years ago. Lots of handguns were stolen and made there way into the hands undesirables

I think they just want a outdoorsy image now.

Yes, they also need to get their customer service in order.

Like gang members? How would they buy them from Wholesale illegally?

I've seen quite a few of these types shooting at TSE... baggy pants, chains, bandanas...but looking like an idiot while shooting legally isn't a crime.
