Deer season is over so coyote hunting will get most of the attention now.....

Seen one this morning on my first set sitting on the bush edge about 110yds away but it turned to go back into the bush before I could get the scope on it. :(

Decided to do another set on a different farm late this afternoon, hand called one in to 65 yds... Wolf out to the coyote, it stops facing me head on, and .....................................I miss.... It sucks and is a crappy feeling especially since I seen this guy come in from over 300 yds away....

Thinking back, I shot at the coyote in the scope not at a spot on the coyote, just too excited I guess...
A little advice for me and everyone else out there to remember.....aim small, miss small.....

Looking forward to another great season (fingers crossed) :)

Bah, my 2017 started off extra rough....took a slip on some ice and tore my rotator cuff. No more shooting or hunting for me for a couple of months...

No worries. Anyone who hunts for any amount of time will miss then usually follow that up by hitting the same spot:)

Cheers and keep at it.

Don't feel bad Frank at least you got the shot off. My 19yr old was out just before Christmas called a big beautiful furred up dog into 50yrds. Went to drop the hammer.....rifle went click not bang! Not sure how many times I've told that boy "be sure to chamber a round" before you turn on the caller lmao.
As he chambered a round coyote spotted him and boogered. No shot just one disaponted teenager that likely learned to always make sure to put a bullet in the chamber.

I asked if he had fun and not to feel too bad it happens to the best of us and it wouldn't be fun if you got one every time!

Hey Frank,

You were out hunting, doing what you like the most.
Got some action, learned more.

I know someone that has been home with flu and fever for a last week... :puke:

Best of luck next time, and don't be too hard on yourself... you are still our resident coyote terminator. ;)

Fratri, what area do you hunt? I could use a hand calling in a few call shy public land coyotes behind my house as I have tried a few times with no luck and you seem to do quite well. Buggers woke me up last night when they were howling so I went out with the light and saw 3 pairs of eyes about 50 yards behind the chicken coop.

I need to get rid of them before they figure out they can dig under the fence to get the chickens/eggs...

Give me a PM as I am not far from you... We can meet up for a coffee to discuss some details....

Frank you really have the gift...starts a thread about missing on a coyote, 10 posts later gets a new hunting opportunity! :d

As always, I appreciate and learn from all of your threads, even the ones that don't include pics of dead yotes.

I've been meaning to meet up with him for a couple years now as we're in the same area. I figure better late than never.
