Anyone have experience with getting a new yourk state hunting and fishing license as a non resident. What all is needed to show them that you've passed an hunting license test in ontario? Outdoors card good enough or would you need the papers from a passed exam?

One proof of residency (for resident fee)
Hunter education certificate (for hunting license)

Have you contacted the NY State at fw.information@dec.ny.gov and asked them the same question.
I am pretty sure they will get back to you with all of the correct information in a timely manner.
Not say there are members here who will give you the bums rush in the other direction, but having both a contact in-house and on the board here will be beneficial.

I created an account and sent them a picture of my Quebec hunting card. After 2-3 weeks, my account was updated with my hunting card info. I was able to buy a hunting license by mail the first year, then in store the second year by showing my old license.

Crossing the border is a little bit more work. But they do seem to have alot more tags and longer seasons. Atleast where we are.
