How about using a Tru-Oil finish? If too shiny for your taste, simply knock off some of the sheen using very fine steel wool. I wonder what the Yugoslavs to originally finish those fine rifles?

I had a new one maybe 20years ago and it looked super, nice dark stock, with the grenade fold up sight on it. At these prices I should have hung on to it I guess.
It was unfired.

Got a sticky or thread on the process?

Depending on the reason you bought it, be careful of what you use on it and do to it, as it may devalue your rifle, if you don't care, then have at it, but if you want it to keep some of its value, check with folks on what is acceptable to use on it without affecting its worth!

I read on another website that BLO is the original finish from the factory. Is anyone able to confirm this? When my rifle gets here, I want to use the correct finish...
