New Zeiss Terra Scopes

They are not of the same quality as the new Conquest HD5 but in their price range, they seem to stack up pretty well.

I don't thinks the Terra was made to compete with the Z3. They are not in the same class as the Z3 optically. Zeiss introduced the Terra line as an affortable entry level scope, more in line with the Nikon scopes.

I had a look at them in store. Interested, seems like the optics are a bit better than the Bushnell Elites I'm using. Glass is very clear and bright, at least when you're wandering around a Cabelas with one. And not too much more money than an Elite, $1000 scopes are out of my budget.
Tomjones is correct, they do replace part of the previous Conquest line, the new Conquests are more expensive and supposedly higher end.

I believe the Terra is a complete new line of scopes Zeiss is offering. Its the Conquest HD5 that replaced the original Conquest. The differences are, the HD5 has the *T coating which the original Conquest did not have and a 5x optical which gives it a wider field of view and of course the turrets are also different.

Not necessarily a wider field of view but a greater zoom range. 5x vs 3x but still in a 1" tube. The Rapid Z reticle was also slightly modified to make it less "cluttered"

Sure they do.... ht tp://www.gentec-intl.com/category/sporting-goods-optics/rifle-scopes/
