Newb Brain Freeze-Need Help

Cleaning my brand new, first ever pistol and accidentally put the slide back on without the recoil spring (idiot) and now I cant get the slide off the pistol. Its a Canik tp9sa. Any and all solutions would be appreciated. I'm going to go and punch myself in the face now.
 
I'd use a plastic or rubber mallet. I don't know the tp9sa but have done similar things with other guns.
Sometimes a little coercion is required. ;)

Perhaps because gravity might force the barrel to stay in its normal position and not slip into the spot that the guide rod and spring occupy. (You might want to jiggle/shake it a little too.)
 
Fill it full of sand ,flour ,suger sounds stupid but when all else fails. Air pressure = air hoze . Heavy oil in a bucket = hydraulic action. Total dismantling or as much as possible , trigger group , grips. A long screw driver in the mag well ,( or butter knife LOL!). You cant be the first. Think out side of the box keep it simple.
