Greetings to all. Wow, I've never been such a "true" newbie before on any other forum that I frequent. Oh I've been new to different forums for sure, but they are for the most parts all motorcycle, fishing, boating or snowmobile related. I've been doing that stuff since before the internet, so I wasn't really all that green. Not so much the case here though. I've always been interested in shooting sports and I've wanted to get my FAC/PAL forever. Well we all know how it goes, other things take priority and there's only so much time and money to go around. Finally myself and two like-minded friends stopped just talking about it and we're all booked in for the firearms safety course to be taken within the next week or two. After that I'll be putting in my app. for a non-restricted PAL, so maybe I'll actually see my licence sometime this fall. In the meantime I've been reading, reading and reading some more about everything. This site is an absolute wealth of knowledge but it's pretty overwhelming trying to get up to speed on all this stuff. I expect that I'll have some pretty stupid newbie questions in the months ahead as I decide what I'm going to buy etc. etc.
