I was just wondering what is the difference between fixed and adjustable sights on a glock 17 gen 4. What are the advantages between the two. I am going to use my glock for target shooting up to about 25 yards. Is fixed sights ok or do i need adjustable?

and if i get the one with fixed sights, can i remove them later and put on different one? ie night sights

Thank you in advance for your help.

It doesn't really matter. Either will be fine.

The really good thing about this decision is the fact that, unlike some other firearms, the Glock's sight cuts are the same for both. So, in the long run, it doesn't matter. Whichever you choose, they are easily changed - even without any special skills - in minutes (using instructions found on YouTube).

Many people will eventually choose one form or another of aftermarket sights (made expressly to fit the Glock).

Because of the Glock's ubiquity and versatility, you don't have to decide this now.

I would say no, adjustable sights arent the deal breaker on a Glock. In my opinion, more people would be interested in night sights, rather than adjustable. A countless number of Glocks have been purchased and re-sold with the standard factory sights as well. Changing the sights is for the person who uses the firearm, and people have different preferences.

the glock adjustable sights in my opinion aren't all that good... better to buy the fixed sight model and if it shoots low or high get the proper factory glock rear sight to fix it till it shoots to POA/POI

for example, I am left eye dominant and right handed and thru my wierd orientation i shoot "most" glock pistol 2-3" low... so i install the +1 rear sight which is suppose to adjust POI by 2 Inches....

takes 5 minutes to swap rear sights and they are around $3-4 from police ord.

I wouldn't worry about it, and I wouldn't pay any extra either, because - either way - they're probably going to be replaced ASAP.

Your preferences may vary, but...with me, whatever comes on it is going to be switched out for Heinies anyway.

There is a lot of people who prefer the stock sights, I switched mine out for the Trijicon Night sights, and they are spectacular. The TRUGLO and mepro sights are nice as well.

Can you operate the slide using adjustable sights or would that damage them?

the stock glock sights are quite fine for combat shooting, but are fragile and cheap looking. adj glock sights are fine, but useless as theyare target oriented, and a stock glock dosent make a great target pistol anyways
