Newb: Inexpensive 223 non-restrict semi auto coyote control firearm?

I think I just found an answer to my own question on the web. You need a blunt nose round for tube lever guns as pointed rounds may cause the shell in front to discharge with the point pressing against the primer.

Yah, That's why lever action guns like the BLR, and model 88 chambered in hunting cartridges are all magazine fed, no reason why they couldn't do the same for a .223 model.

MUST be 223? i love my M305....not the most accurate but its fun to shoot. i would limit kill shots to about 200 yards with cheap ammo and factory/stock rifle but they can be made into 1 MOAish guns with some tweaking and a new barrel

Savage 116 with a scope will be less than a grand, and will shoot better than you can.
Bolt gun is the way to go.
