Newb looking for some norinco NP 34 & NP22 insight

a co-worker got one in a trade.
he got a CQ (AR) and the NP-22 in a trade.
both where brand new.
he only wanted the CQ so the NP was a free bonus really.
it has sat in his safe for over a year now, last week i offered him $100 for it and he jumped on that sale.

so i took it out to the range and put 200 rounds out it.
flawless solid gun.

its not my front line gun.... or second line or 20th line but for $100 its my dirty experiment gun, haha
but there is nothing wrong with it, its solid and clean and put together real nice, in fact for a norinco the fit and finish are surprisingly good, and i have 5 other norinco's to compare it too and it is by far a heck of a lot better then the 1911's and CQ's and shotguns for toolmarks and such.

Also with regards to the NP-22, I've been searching for a holster for my NP-22. I'm assuming I need a P226R holster, or can i fit it into a normal P226 holster?

Sorry for delayed reply!!! I have 2 originals and 2 Sig mags, all seem to be in the same situation??? But you did file out that mag catch hole ... I never thought of that. Might be worth trying. They seem to be slowly 'breaking in' but still require a little more force than apparently everyone else requires for their handguns.

I ran sig226 mags in my NP34 on the weekend, they ran fine, just looked like they were falling out of the gun due to the extra length.
